Welcome to the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Program (
YWBCP) web site. Our comprehensive program offers personal support, education and research programs for young women
with breast cancer.
|
YWBCP is dedicated to:
• Providing support and fellowship for young women with breast cancer
and their families.
• Raising awareness of the unique issues surrounding breast cancer diagnosed at a young
age.
• Conducting research focused on breast cancer among young women. |
The support and education programs are sponsored by Washington University School of Medicine through a generous grant
from the St. Louis Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation. Health care professionals at Washington
University join with young women with breast cancer to identify the program’s priorities and to implement strategies to
meet the needs of young women and their families. Ongoing support and education programs are available to women living in
St. Louis and the surrounding area.
The young women’s research program is sponsored by Washington University School of Medicine and the Alvin J. Siteman
Cancer Center through a research grant from the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation. The goal of the research program is
to identify the genetic factors that contribute to breast cancer risk among young women. Paul Goodfellow, PhD, and
Jennifer Ivanovich co-direct this research study. This research program is open to all young women with breast cancer
living in the United States.
We welcome your support and advocacy for young women with breast cancer. Contact
